Hi - I´m Stefan Plüth (or Plueth for those of you who do not
have the ü) and I´ve been collecting minerals for more than 20 years. I live
in Rheine, Germany and I´m the general manager of Plüth Regelsysteme
GmbH (www.plueth.de) - a company
which develops and manufactures the building automation system COSMOS.
My favorite mineral is Fluorite - I love it, but it´s not so easy to get good
specimens anymore as most fluorite mines have been closed. Twice a year I go to Berbes, Spain (and also to LaCollada and Caravia) to search
for nice fluorites. Often I've worked for two weeks and found nothing. Then, the
next time I have luck: thus I've found one of the biggest holes of the last few
years.
Unfortunately, the situation in Berbes is now quite bad - they are building a
new highway and have subsequently filled great parts of the mine.
Several times a year I go to the Black Forest - one of the nicest places in
Germany! Great nature and a lot of old closed mines.
My wife says we have too many minerals in our house; consequently I've decided
to sell some specimens of my collection (although I don't share my wife's
opinion)!
As a result, you can find a lot of great minerals from my collection on this
website. Enjoy the galleries and the pictures of my trips and I would be more
than happy to hear from you!
